Told ya so. i never heard of the other polishes the guys were talking about. But i have used mothers a lot on other stuff. it works really good. holds well on protecting your gun too. i love that stuff.

Did you just apply it like wax on a car? Looks great!

yep thats all you do. however it is metal polish. so when you rub on a small portion. your rag will turn black. that is the oxidation from the metal. i just rub it in really good make sure i rub every area to make sure to get everything covered. Then take a soft dry cloth and rub off the polish any dull areas if you have any just put a little more on. if you go ballistic and rub it out until no more black comes on the rag it will shine like chrome.

Pretty much what scrat said and also the directions say: "Hard rubbing not necessary. Use sparingly."

I've always used Never Dull but it dosen't have anything on Mothers.

Will it harm the bluing on any of my modern & replica guns?

I have a few I'd like to try it on but want some one else's experience in this before I go out & buy some.

Just off the top of my head, if it polishes dull or scratched metal, it will REMOVE your bluing.

I've not tried Mothers, but Flitz and NevrDull will remove some cold blues, but I've never seen either of them touch hot blue or rust blue.

it will probably remove the blueing but thats not the correct way to remove the bluing. Guns that are blued are not supposed to be polished. you just need to wipe down the bluing with a soft cloth. maybe some warm water. This is meant for either stainless steel or stripped blue guns. if you want to strip the blue you will need to take it apart and put the parts in a tub of vinegar for about an hour. Thats when you will use the mothers after all the bluing has came off the end result will be what you see on top a beautiful looking white steel gun.
