They do make some for pistols: http://www.sherwoodakuna.com/brasscatcher.htm

But most people I've seen using one with a pistol use a stand alone one that they position next to them rather than one attached to the gun.

Something like this: http://www.bubca.com/

Although most look to be home made and sometimes only consist of an old sheet and a simple frame.

Well, how about making one for yourself. You can make exactly what you want and to fit you. As an example, mine has two sets of legs. My wife is 4'11" and I am 6'5". Swap out the legs and you have custom fit for both of us.

go down to your local used sporting goods store buy a $1 tennis racket and cut the string out of it... replace the string with a small amount of window screen from your local hardware store... mount the racket to a board.... cheap brass catcher

I usually just spread a tarp on the ground if I'm shooting something that slings brass I intend to keep...

Does the brass get hot enough to melt/ignite certain materials? Is a plastic tarp ok? Mosquito netting?

Blackbeard, brass fresh out of the gun will blister skin if it goes down your shirt or lands between your glasses and your forehead, but no, in my experience, it won't ignite anything.
I sure have enjoyed watching some people dance tho. Have entertained some folks myself!

Haha. I thought you were saying your wife was your brass catcher until I reread it.

Hey, wait a minute...........

For handguns take an archery armguard and mount netting on coathanger wire/welding rod - works better than attaching to a handgun.
