I am looking to find some good pics of 38 ammo shot out of a snub nose gun.I now carry federal hydra-skocks 110 gr. in my 38 but yet have got a chance to shoot one and recover the bullet.I use them because I get a little more speed (1000 fps on the box) and hope for some expansion with a snuby.

Please post pics if you have any or the link.

A few issues back...I think that it was Combat Handguns magazine...there was an article on +p's out of snubbies. They shot a bunch of different +P ammo into ballistic gelatin, I believe, and the bullets just barely started to expand. They had photos.

I just glanced at this on a news stand. I do not shoot +p's, so it was of limited interest to me. Somebody may be able to hook you up with the article. The long and short of it was that out of a 2" barrel, there is not enough velocity for the bullets to expand. I would imagine, though, that the impact would be harder.

That's why SPEER developed the GOLD DOT 135grain 38 +P. It was designed specifically for snubbies.
Check out the following article.

The Corbon DPX seems to perform well as well.
