Is the HF spotting scope better than no spotting scope?

Here (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=94555) is a link to the item.

Thanks!

The one I have has red color fringing, but I can read the text on the targets up to about 35x – 40x without a problem. As with most inexpensive optics the focus shifts slightly as you zoom in or out. It is very functional to see where the hole is in the piece of paper. I replaced the tripod with a decent photo tripod first thing. Get it when it is on sale for around $45.

Save your money and get something you will truly be happy with. HF is junk, you have to be very careful what you buy there.

Not so. Most of their hand tools are very good, and at the prices they get for them, they are often a serious bargain.

I am suspicious of the small powered tools, especially battery powered stuff, but they make some very decent drill presses that are dirt cheap. The fit and finish is not there, but you are getting functionality at a low cost. If you want pretty buy a pretty unit and pay much more.
