Help Me Understand Saigas

I've got plenty of rifles and handguns, but pretty much nothing in the way of shotguns and I'd like to fix that. On the one hand I'd like something for defense, but I may just get a Mossberg for that and get a Saiga for fun. My main question is over the different gauges. I would think that the 12- and 20-gauge guns handle more like shotguns and the .410 more like a regular AK; is this true? I guess what I want is something that can hold 10+ rounds and be useful mostly for defense (more of community than home), but might also be suitable for hunting.

Sorry if this is complicated; I just figured that there's obviously a wealth of knowledge here and a search of the archives didn't seem to turn up the info I'm looking for.

go to forum.saiga-12.com. Your wealth of knowledge is over there for sure. I have a Saiga 12 gauge and a Saiga 7.62x39 rifle. What is neat is I have them configured the same, folding stock, pistol grip. The shotgun handles just like the rifle except it is a little heavier. Also I don't know if they make 10 round magazines for the 20 or .410

If you get the Saiga, the Mossberg will be somewhat pointless. It will fill both roles very...very...well.
