Price is no object but the SKS must be available for sale in the US in reasonable numbers.

Are SKS's C&R firearms? Can I have them shipped to me if I have a C&R?

Are SKS's C&R firearms? Can I have them shipped to me if I have a C&R? Russians, Yugos, Romanians and Albanians are C&R. Unfortunately, Chinese(Norincos) are not. I really wish they were because they come in so many cool variations.

For me it is the Russian. I've owned several Norincos but I've always yearned for a goor Russian at a decent price. I finally got one recently. :D
The flavor of the month is currently Yugo.

Russian.
I had two of them but only kept one. I keep it with its original furniture.

I couldn't vote: my SKS is Chinese, but it's a Chicom(not Norinco).
As I've only owned it for a couple of weeks, I'm just starting to research the history. I can hear you chuckling: the fellow I bought it from(1st owner to clean cosmoline from it , is the former President of my gun club and had some "work" done on this one....all I know is, it's a fun and accurate rifle!

I love my Russian SKS that I got about seven years ago. Even if it is arsenal refinished, why not go with the original if you can? Also, the quality is so far above and beyond at least 3 different Chicom variations that friends of mine have had over the years. The wood on Chicom SKS has always seemed a bit on the cheesy side to me. The only Chicom SKS that even came close to the Russian that I have seen is my uncle's Vietnam bring back.
I have my eye on getting a Yugo, as I have heard good things about them. I really want an East German version though, but I think they were all melted down years ago.:(

While the Russians are the nicest, I personally like the Chinese "paratrooper" SKS's, because they're such handy little carbines.
