The 3rd edition of Standard Catalog Of Smith & Wesson by
Jim Supica and Richard Nahas is not definitive of any S&W revolvers
begining with the AUx prefix~? Your best bet would be to call or
write the S&W historian, Mr. Roy Jinks; and he could provide you
with that information.

Ok thanks Dan for that info. I saw an older 19-3 which somebody told me by the serial number, was from 1971, but that did not begin with AU though. The gun I was inquiring about is a 19-5 also like Mikes above.

If it's any help. Mine is AHF9XXX and was manufactured in 1986 and is a mod 19-5.
