i just bought a springfield stevens model 86. rifle was made around 1940. i would like to have an aperature sight on the rifle. how does one go about deciding which sight would work on a particular rifle?

Oddly enough, I was looking for the same thing about a year ago. Apparently Lyman made a sight fot it, and they turn up on ebay occasonally. I bought one that I thought was right, but it was not, still looking. May end up adapting something, but not a tang sight.
