I wonder how the statistics listed compare relative to the US (as a % of the population).

if they are going to join the EU they will have to accept the whole body of European gun control directives without complaint. That's the only deal in the table...

I have been to the Czech Republic several times, have some very close friends there. The people as a whole will go out of their way to help you. I remember one time in the bad old days (commie rule) my wife and I went to Prague to show two of our dogs in a dog show. Our van used unleaded gas and that was a very difficult thing to find. We were staying at a friends house and they put us in touch with some blackmarket guys that took care of our problem. I really hate to see the Czech Republic join the EU, they just wont be the same in a few years.

So these thugs try to rob this guy of his livelihood and the storekeeper may get 12 years?
I knew there was a reason my great grandparents left Czechoslovakia.

"The government wants tighter gun control with this law," said Cabinet spokesman Libor Roucek. "We will regulate who can carry weapons and obtain weapons more tightly. We want to adjust our laws with European Union standards. Before this, we were too liberal ."
Interesting perspective on the term liberal compared to the usual context here. As 2nd ammendment rights we need to be vigilant and vote.
