I like it Oleg, Good thing you didn't center your subject in the picture or it would suggestively read :

"Make every (head) shot count"

Fred talks about using a 10-22 with peep sights in training to make every shot count - because .22 is cheaper then 7.62 and a great gun to learn how to be a rifleman with.
Once mastered with the 10-22 rifleman skills easily transfer up to a "full" rifle.

It looks too plane for me also, but I have no idea what I'd do give it more appeal.
That's your department Oleg. :)

Maybe foreground with a nice 10-22 with a "fuzzy" background of people firing battle rifles prone???

Again, that's your department Oleg. :)

Armoredman, Appleseed is a traveling show. Find a location, and they will make one happen. No kidding. The ball is now in your court. You're it! When you find a suitable location, PM me and I'll get you in contact with the organizers.

I have been to two. The instructors were top notch. The groups ranged from noobs to .mil types and everything in between. You will be instructed in basic firearm technique and should emerge a better shooter. Safety is observed at all times. I've seen everything from .22 rimfire to Garands. IIRC I shot around 300 rounds in the two day event.

ARs shooting Wolf should bring cleaning kits and plenty of CLP! :D

ETA: they are also GREAT FUN!

Oleg,

Nicely Done. I Am Particularly Interested In That Rail On Your Rifle, Can You Elaborate.

Your Oprics Are Interesting As Well That Is About As Low A Line Of Sight I Have Seen. Just What I Need For My Socom.

Thanks In Advance.

What kind of sight is that?

It's a Trijicon Tripower (http://ultimak.com/TX30.htm) on an Ultimak M8 (http://ultimak.com/BuyM14.htm) rail. They work pretty well. The rail is rock-solid and fairly light.

I would like to swap my Tripower for an Aimpoint or a low-power illuminated scope, if anyone is interested.

Oleg for President in 2012 we just have to make him a Govenor first. I am thinking Illinois, they could do with some change.

just as a quick aside, are there any other sights that use a reticle similar to the tri-power? Preferably a cheaper sight :p

This is an awesome ad BTW, I really wish there was an Appleseed shoot nearby.

Trijicon Reflex II

I like the poster, and maybe it's just me, but the text looks not quite right.

It doesn't look bad. I just think it needs something, maybe holding the cartridge in the thumb and forefinger on top and bottom..Or maybe the appleseed.org needs to be below the rifle.

It could just be me, I just got off work....

Nice work... and appropriate timing, what with April 19th just a few days away!

I'm headed for the Searsboro Appleseed this afternoon!

I am so going to an appleseed shoot next year (was planning before the poster). Can't make the only one scheduled in state this year sadly.

...are there any other sights that use a reticle similar to the tri-power?

Trijicon Reflex II

True, but the Reflex II sits higher than the Tripower, due to the fact that it's lens area sits entirely above the sight body and reticle projector. The TX30 Tripower's viewing area overlaps the iron sight axis (fancy talk for co witnessing). The point being that the Tripower (or similar tubular sight, like an Aimpoint) will give you a decent cheekweld without a riser or an adjustable stock.

Soooo, if you like that chevron reticle, and you like the idea of the nice low sight axis, the Tripower on the M8 mount is your choice.

Great poster, Oleg!
