Well I never, so 229, 239 or 2022 listed. I just don't think your realizing what your missing. :neener:

But I don't think there is a horrible choice in the bunch you've liste.d

All listed are excellent, reliable CCWs. My personal favorite is the Kahr T9.

Of those, the Glock has been around the longest, but all of them are well proven. Also, there is a fairly wide disparity in action types and grip sizes.

And no CZs? :scrutiny: :p

:what: NO H&K BLASPHIMY!!! LoL

I haven't shot any of those, but my friend does own a Glock and she CCW's it just fine.

So based on limited knowledge I would have to say Glock, if I can only pick from your list. However you did ask CCW so compact or even S-Compact should suffice.

Alas I still want to suggest if I may and not to be rude... H&K USPc series which ever caliber you prefer.

Of your choices, I say the G19. I prefer a full grip, and carry a G23. Just sold my last micro pistol, dont feel comfortable drawing the little things:D The G19 may not be the best for everyone, but the one I had was 100% reliable, and shot to where I aimed:)

to mess with your thread.

Your choice is rather limited and I suggest you look at the Walther P99c.

The specifications exceed that of which you are considering, although albeit just slightly more expensive, but worth it.

Gun Show Saturday, will be looking at a Kahr PM9 or a HK 2000, and One will go home with me:D

I said the Glock 19 but I carry my Golck 26.

I chose G19 also. Perfect size for a compact pistol and excellent reputation for reliability.

Kel-Tec P11 or PF9 - great price ($250-$300), both are some of the smallest 9MM's on the market and are backed by a lifetime warranty. Also, very reliable. I own a P11 and after 300 rds no FTF or FTE.

1911 best carry .So my answer is none of above

Glock 19!

Easy to conceal and reliable. And enough bullets to pop few warning shots. Oh AND lots of mag choices.

Of the ten or so guns I've carried the KelTec PF9 is my favorite. It just disappears, is a great little shooter and reliable. I also love the value.

Not on the list but I carry a Kimber Ultra Carry II stainless, awesome gun.

Not real crazy about any of them, but forced to choose: the S&W...:)

I voted Glock 19. I don't have a lot of experience with others but as the G19 fills the bill I find no reason to look for anything else.

Probably any one of those you listed (and others you didn't) would work equally well.

Any quality pistol should meet your requirements. I'm not one to precah the virtues of one particular manufactuer or design.

I'm a big fan of Glocks and I think the model 19 is the perfect size for a self-defence pistol.

April 19, 2008, 01:49 PM
Get something half the size of the G19 and twice the quality: Kahr K9

April 19, 2008, 09:02 PM
Handled a Kahr T9 today. The guy at the counter let me hold it next to a G19 because I am looking for a G19 replacement. I was hoping that the T9 would be smaller than the G19 but was surprised when they appeared about the same size. Honestly the more I try to replace my G19 with something else the more I find that its just about the best CCW out there.

There's no such thing as overall best. There's what fits your hand, shooting style, budget, carry method, and overall preferences.

Of those listed, all have their benefits. The important thing is for you to feel comfortable with your chosen gun. None of them are particularly low quality.

you can't go wrong with the g19, the xd sc or any xd for that matter, or the kahr k series. i had a glock 19. i own currently a xd sc .40 that i carry daily and i love it. it is accuarte, reliable, and conceals great,

i also have a kahr k40 that is reliable, accurate and has a nice trigger, that is now my wifes ccw. i like capacity so i go with the xdsc series. you can carry the sc mag in the gun and use the extended mags with the mag spacers for the reloads.

I think the 19 is somehow perfect in size and balance; that said, I don't like the finger grooves, and would probably get an old 23 and have the multiple caliber option.
I carry Commanders, but if tempted from the one true faith to dabble on the dark side...
Cheers, TF

I have a question... not to derail this thread but why would one carry extenda-mags for a CCW HG??? Just an observation

Like a few of the others said, we can tell you what we feel is the best choice, but like so many other threads like/before this one the answer is always the same... You will ultimately have to/will make your own choice based on our/your own experience with the firearms. I really do suggest that you go to your local range and test fire each one. (all at once or at different times) when you find the one that kicks you best, GO FOR IT!!!

I guarantee that what choice you make you will be happy with and we will be happy for/with you.

Good luck and great shooting,

Either the vz82 or the Makarov. They're built like tanks, accurate, and are reliable.
