Hey all, just wondering if anyone out there has a mercworx shiva. I've had a Sniper for a few years now and its a good field knife but I think the smaller, double edged shiva would be a better "fighting" knife...let me know what you think.

In general, I think Mercworx look like decent knives as far as quality goes, but overpriced and oddly shaped.

I think there are some good reasons for large knives to not be double-edged, in addition to the potential legal issues. I can tell you the Shiva is still large enough you might get laughed at, if you carry it in country.

I don't own any, but I have handled several of them and found the quality of construction to be excellent.

I have their Latalis Auto and the Clotho folder. Both are very high quality pieces with excellent fit/finish on mine. I've heard some previous mixed reviews on their folder lockup though. They are a bit oddly shaped to me as well. I picked both of them up second hand and are a great value there. I probably wouldn't buy them again if I had to pay anywhere near going rate.
