Heres NY laws on assauly weapons, can someone please explain to me the last part? It says no semi auto replicas can be made from full auto? (AR-15) But this cant be true.

ASSAULT WEAPONS
It shall be unlawful to possess any “assault weapon”

assault weapons lawfully possessed prior to September
14, 1994 and large capacity ammunition feeding devices

you left a couple out...

it is automatically defined as an assault rifle if it has:

• Extreme Lefty Democrats attached

• Your wife catches you buying it

nice additions there johnny, but I think he was quoting the law. But I loved the sarcasm and humor. And to clarify your humor, is the assault when she smacks the living piss outta you or the no husband/wife relations for a month minimum?

Thanks for the humor, :) But my question still remains!

The ATF says "Once an MG, always an MG." The AR15 was never FA. It's evil in NY because it's black with a pistol grip, a flash hider and a detachable mag.

It is basically a reiteration of federal law.

Simply put: It's not legal to remove the full-auto capability from a full-auto weapon and then sell it as a semi-auto.

So, they can sell ARs that were manufactured as semi-auto only, but they cannot sell ARs that used to be full-auto and were converted to semi-auto.

And yes, this used to be federal law, but it lapsed. Unfortunately, NY didn't let their version lapse with the feds version.
Edit: I meant the whole "assault weapons" ban, not the full auto part. The full auto part is still in effect everywhere.

Yeah yeah, I know, Endicott is a hole. My wife and I are considering moving South to PA or maybe getting really radical and moving to Texas.

EDIT: Also, you're welcome.

I've been thinking the same thing.......that PA border being 15 minutes away is pretty enticing.

Oh how nice it would be to get all the evil goodies on my AR and AK's:D.
