If you purchase one of these items using a corporation or trust, do you still pay the $200 transfer tax per item?

Affirmative. You don't think the Government would make it that easy to get around the $200 tax stamp, do you?

I think the only way you can avoid it is if you are a SOT and from what I undertsand they try to crack down on "kitchen table dealers" these days who are doing it for personal guns and not a business (for exactly that reason).

and an unrelated FFL question. If I order a firearm from a dealer within my own state, must it still be shipped to an FFL?

nd an unrelated FFL question. If I order a firearm from a dealer within my own state, must it still be shipped to an FFL? All firearms you get from a dealer (in state or not) must have a 4473 filled out on them.

So, yes is your answer.

If you are buying it through a corporation, does that mean you can afford to hire somebody to load magazines for you?

Unless its a dealer to dealer transfer on a form 3(?), I dont think there's anyway around the $200 stamp.

It's actually the best way to do it if you plan on buying several NFA weapons.

If you buy them as a private individual only the person on the Form 1 or 3 or whatever can be in possession of the firearm.

If you incorporate any officer of the corporation can be in possession of the firearm.

Also you get to skip the CLEO signoff if that's a problem.

Trusts are just as effective as a corporation but cheaper to maintain
