I don't know where to put this so I figured this would be as good a spot as any. This coming sunday I will be shipping out to Parris Island and try to earn the title of United States Marine. My MOS is the 65xx Field which is aviation ordnance. I will graduate on July 25, come home for 10 days and then head to north carolina for Marine Combat Training. After all of this I will start attending my MOS training in Pensacola Florida.
I just wanted to say that i enjoyed all of your company and I have learned many useful things on this forum. I never really had much to say, but sometimes I would ask a question and I would always get an answer that I was looking for. So thank all of you for everything.

Good luck. Remember (and it will be hard at times) that you are young and healthy and in the company of great men, so enjoy the time you are there. This time will only come once in your life, and the memories and friends you make will have to last your lifetime. Thanks for taking the hitch for the rest of us.

It was well over 30 years ago that I boarded a plane and flew to San Diego to begin a life changing experience. It was the best thing that ever happened to me and made me a much better person.
I wish you the best of luck in your new adventure. You will go into the Corps and come out a completely different person. Trust me, the change will be life long and for the better.
You will enjoy working around the " fast movers ". Aviation is a good gig.
Good luck and I hope you find our beloved Corps all that you thought it would be,
Ohhhh Rahhhh,

My grandson is Army Airborne, but he recently came back from Iraq where he fought alongside the Marines in Falusia. From what he tells me you are about to join some very GOOD men. Good luck and thank you.

Better to go now than in July, it does get a bit hot and moist down there.
God Bless you and heart felt thank you for your service. Update us when you can, Marine.

Thank you for your (future) service. Get strong(er) and stay safe.
(Also I don’t know but I’m told the sand fleas can sense fear. Best show them right from the start you don’t care about them.)

Thank you for your service. I've always liked what the king of Las
Vegas had to say "our troops are the ones who pick up the tab for the rest of us"

Thank you for picking up the slack!
Aside from Son #2's birth on 10 Nov 83, watching him pass in review during the graduation ceremony on the Pietross Parade Deck was about the best day of my life. When your time comes, I'm sure that you'll feel good about it too!;)
