After doing some searching for discounted prices on Surefire flashlights it appears dealers are not discounting. Is that right or does anyone know where they can be purchased new at a decent discount ?

The problem is that Surefire uses MAP, which is Minimum Advertised Pricing. Meaning dealers can't advertise a lower price than Surefire's retail. Some dealers do have lower prices they just can't advertise them.

These forums have more info on flashlights than anywhere I know. If there are good deals someone there will know just as guns are the thing here.

I'm a CPF (candlepowerfourums) member, and yeah, the low-down is to be found over there. Most "deals" on Surefires included free shipping and lots of extra batteries, that's how they get around the controlled pricing. Buuuuuut, keep this on the QT, if you're a member of CPF, and call up OpticsHQ,well.....i've probably said too much already.........( just do it).

if you hunt and peck on Evil-bay, you can find the occasional good deal.

OpticsHQ is where I go.
You can either call them up, or send them an email. ;)

I do all my SureFire shopping at BatteryStation.com - They are great to deal with and I know they will take care of things if I have a problem.

If your an officer or active military they give you 30% discount from the dealer. Total of the light, dozen batteries, and shipping was less than the cheapest price I could find ANYWHERE (before shipping too!)-for just the light.

As a flashaholic I feel you. I'm spending about as much on flashlights as I am on ammo every month now....
Surefire is excellent and I can't recommend them highly enough. However, if you're price sensitive about buying (and don't plan on mounting to a firearm) I'd take a look at Fenix (www.fenixlight.com) as well. Their quality isn't quite to Surefire standards, but I really enjoy their lights as well and they can be found much cheaper.
Either way, I hope you enjoy the lights!

Just want to say thanks again and let you guys know I did purchase my Surefire today and got an excellent deal at OpticsHQ after joining CPF. Thanks to Mil-Dot and Schuey2002 for your help, I would not have known about that route to a good deal with out your input. Also, thanks to Sir Ardvark for your help and time to reply to my request for info... I can't wait to get it in the next few days and try it out...:D
