I am picking up a new Remington 11-87 this Friday evening. Anything special I need to do to get it ready to bust some clays Saturday morning?I am new to shotguns. TIA

Clean it up good and LIGHTLY oil it. Mobil 1 5W30 is a good choice, as are most quality gun oils. Good luck with your new shotgun!!

lightly oil the mag tube where the piston rides.

Pull the barrel and check in the two small gas ports inside the sleeve to make sure there is no wads of cosmoline or grease that could blow into the gas system. You want very little oil on the gas system where it recoils as it will pick up burnt powder and residue, just enough lubrication to let it slide.
Keep your head down on the stock and have fun.:)

Keep the choke tubes tight, they may want to loosen up after a couple of
boxes of shells. Also, keep the magazine tube (outside of tube) clean and lightly oiled. I use break free, it seems to work pretty good. Change the action tube spring every 15000 rounds. Break em all!

Although I've yet to do it myself, it has been mentioned that buying some spare O-rings always helps.
