I pose this question to those who actually own a new Kimber Series II.

How are their performance as far as going boom every time?
Reliability?
Accuracy?

I have seen a great number of people not like the series II because they don't like the idea an extra safety. I too think that it is unnecassary however I am more interested in actual performance than opinion. I would like to get a compact stainless for carry. I am having a tough time finding a series 1. So if all else fails I would like to know if the series II actually performs as good as the first regardless of the extra part.

I have the Kimber Eclipes Custom II Target. The gun eats all types of ammo, is extremly reliable and accurate. I can shoot 1" groups offhand most all day long from 50'.

I do not own one, but I have personally seen five failures, three of which ended up in the gun being sold...

I have about 560 rounds through my Kimber Stainless II, and the only problems I had were on the first three strings with the factory mag.
The mag works fine now, but I carry Wilson Combat 47Ds and all three of them have been flawless together with the pistol from the third mag on.
It is really a finely made pistol, very precisely fit, has a very good trigger out of the box, and is unreal accurate, I thought my Colt MKIV SER 80 STS was accurate but the kimber shoot groups half the size (from a big 1 hole group with the Colt to a little 1 hole group with the Kimber),
and by the way it hasen't jammed on ANY round I have tried to feed it (230 Ball, 230 Hydrashok, 185 Corbon, 200 LSWC) rapid fire or slow fire, topped up or 5 shot strings.
there is a LOT of crap on the net about Kimbers, and some of the little guns have appearently had some problems
My pistol when detail stripped looks to have parts the equal of any pistol I own and that (crappy MIM extractor) looks like a piece
of art with sharp lines.
But this is just my humble opinion:evil:
