is there any revovler, in current production, that fires out of the bottom cylinder rather than the top ? what are some advantages to this set up ?

i just want one because i think it looks cool  :D

and im not sure of the correct terminology, but is there one that is breach opening, as in the verticle plain right behind the cylinder opens up in a V fashion to load the gun

thanks

There are no break-action bottom-chamber revolvers outside the anime Trigun.

Mateba semitauto revolvers are available relatively cheap from CDNN right now; .44 Magnums for $699 or so. They fire out of the bottom chamber, and are semiautomatic, to boot.

Thats a GREAT price for a Mateba. Unfortunately its not okay to buy one of those in the Socialist State of California (not on the "approved safe list"). Too bad, cause I've always had an interest in buying one.

A couple of firing prototypes for such guns have been made over the years, usually one-offs by tinkerers who try to interest the gun companies.

The biggest advantage is that the bore axis is in alignment with the hand/arm, not above it, so the recoil torque is a lot less.

If you're planning to cosplay as Vash with it you might want to think twice. Most convention staff security take a dim view of real weapons used as props. But yeah, it would be cool.

Anime fan? Nah, not me. :) Hmm. 'scuse me, I've got the new Noir and Patlabor DVD's to go watch today ... Patlabor - now THERE"s a revolver for you.
