Hi I was wondering if anyone has had work done around here. I need to get a muzzle brake put on my rifle just checking if anyone had any reviews on smiths in this area

Charlie (the gunsmith, not the owner) at Charlies' Gun Store on Menaul has done similar jobs for me at a reasonable price. he isn't the fastest out there, but he does decent work.

It depends upon the time of year. Don't expect anything fast if you take it in two months before hunting season.

I have had a barrel cut back and re-crowned in just under two weeks, and I had him install some new sights on a M1911 that took about 3 months. A friend of mine is having some work done on a M1911, and I think that Charlie has had it in the shop for something like 13 months.

Check out Sam; He is a member here.

Lives in Alamogordo, though.

Probably less of a wait than Charlie Jackson, because everyone else that wanted something done to their firearms in Abq already took them to Charlie...;)

Racks and racks of stuff and not enough hours in the day to work on it all.

www.eabco.com < They do mostly TCs and their custom rifles but they are good and turn around time is fairly short. Their muzzle brake work is excellent. Not sure if the have a restriction on models they work on.

I used to do some work for Barry M. when he was in Abq. but I retired to Information Technologies. The pay and work is more consistent. He was the best while he was here in NM. Thought about starting a gunsmithing shop but getting too old for that ambition now.

Roy Bedeaux (sp?) does a lot of custom work, not sure if he would do a brake or not.
