Doing some trigger work on my Colt/80. The trigger pull is great (3 lbs, 11 oz.) with the slide removed. Jumps to 4 lbs, 2 oz with the slide mounted due to the added spring pressure on the saftey plunger. Is there a lighter spring for the safety plunger?

Wolff doesn't list one.
There are advertised kits with polished and TiN coated superfluous parts to minimize the boost in trigger pull. I don't know if they work.
You are seeing a 7 oz difference, the expert genius gunsmiths claim a 4 oz difference, the ones who claim no difference... somehow.
If a defense or duty weapon, I would leave it alone, 4lb 2oz ain't bad. If a target gun, I would delete the extra pieces.

Nope. Don't want to get them mad at me.
Might have to do business with one if the world supply of standard 1911 actions dries up.

No tinkering required there.
Luck of the draw, though.
