I just picked up a new gun case today for a couple of hunting trips I'll be taking this year that will involve airline travel. I picked up the Cabelas brand "bullet proof" case. I chose it because it seemed pretty solid, but I did some reading later today and read nothing but good things about Pelican while I've heard of a few cases of the Cabelas brand denting, although I've never heard of an issue with the contents.
Anyone have any bad experience with Cabelas "bullet proof" case that would justify exchanging it for a Pelican? The price is almost identical for a two gun case.

Pelican has been the gold standard in bullet proof cases (for anything) for about 30 years. I wish I could remember the magazine that tested cases a while back. The did all kinds of airlines tests. I just can't remember if it was VHA, or NRA, or the Elk Foundation.

It was NRA "American Hunter", but I don't remember it too well. I do remember they tested both. I don't suppose there is anywhere online I could find a copy of it?
