Anyone here converted a remington 700 to use mags? and Im not talking about the expensive clip conversions. I've heard you can do it, and was hoping maybe someone had pics and a description of the work to be done. Its for a tacticool 308.

I really don't see the big advantage with 20 round mags and a bolt action. There are conversion kits available for the 700 to use mags up to 10 rounds, but I doubt that the M-14 mag conversion is possible without major machining on a mag well.

Fraught with problems, and very expensive to do.

PS: If its for a tacticool 308, you should only really need one shot!

I thought Badger Ordanance made a conversion. And I hear having multiple shots is pretty handy, if you're playing the long distance tactical shooting game. They don't always put out just one steel plate.
