Has anybody tried one? Are they worth the extra expense over the friction lock models? I sure had a hard time finding something to close a friction lock on while standing in a field a couple of weekends ago.

ASP makes a great friction lock baton, but the ASP "Leverlock" isn't so great. It was made to compete w/ Monadnock autolock baton. If you are looking for "Leverlock" style of baton skip ASP and buy the "Autolock".

Thanks for the heads up. I've head the monadnock/cascos are a fair bit heavier than the ASP. I'll stick with an ASP.
