I'm hoping to convert one of the Saiga 308s later this year and then maybe get the 12 when cash allows. Hope it's still legal to buy one by then.

What would be the LE use of a full auto shotgun?!?! Where in America would that be needed!?!?!

Ultimate crowd gun, firing rubber buckshot... Actually, I have no use for one in my Dept, but I would love to have one for myself!

First off, let me say that I wouldn't have a Saiga-12 on a bet. There's a limit to how ugly a gun I'll allow in my house.
But damn that was COOL!!!!!

The saiga 12 is the most versatile shotgun on the planet. the first full auto 12 in the states debuted back in 2004 I believe. The US could have many uses for a full auto Saiga 12, the LA riots come to mind...

When the SWAT team come to take your guns.

To me, it makes more sense to see a full-auto shotgun rather than a full-auto assault rifle.
The reason is simple. Try hitting a small target at 30 yards on full-auto using an M16. Chances are the first shot may hit, while the rest bounce around everywhere but your target.
Now switch to a full-auto 12ga firing buckshot, and see how many projectiles hit the target in the same amount of time. My bets will be on the 12ga placing many more hits on the target.
It's just more efficient to have a full-auto firing a spread pattern, as FAs are inherently less accurate to begin with.

You also need fewer bursts and can more effectively clean out a broad area. I have always believed that the ideal full-auto weapon is one that fires a pattern.
If you want a really scary thought, picture one of those with a 20 round drum loaded entirely with flechette rounds.

First, brigadier, Flechettes don't work.
Second, I don't see a lot of application for such a weapon.
Unless you're fighting hordes of enemies, who aren't going to be wearing body armor, I think a semi-auto shotgun is all you'd need.

Shotguns really aren't the best choice for a suppressive fire mission.
That thing does look like fun, and that's all the reason needed....

The look on the second guy's face in the first Youtube video when his buddy tells him he needs to lean into it more is funny. Looks like he's thinking "Yea, that's it.. and I also need to gain 100 pounds so it doesn't push me one step back." :p
Very cool video, it does look like a lot of fun.

Fun, sure, for us. I'd rather law enforcement dollars not be spent on a toy like this.

Pistol grip on the front, hook your thumb or index finger in your belt loop and have fun.
