I like the design, but when I tried one out in the local funshop, it didn't fit my Taurus PT 1911. Did he have a bum unit or am I just outta luck?

There is a lot of variation in 1911s, I am not terribly surprised, especially since the early Taurus pistols had really thick trigger guards and the holster locks on the trigger guard.
The newer ones look better, but I guess something is still different. At least you figured that out before getting the holster. My Norinco has a slightly thicker slide than standard, and is a tight fit in most holsters. If you are handy, you might be able to dremel the holster to fit, but I dunno if that would work.
