Favorite Bedding Compound?

I tried AcraGlass and found it sets up too quickly (in Arizona heat) and is a little brittle.
What are the other option available for me and my Savage 10FP?

With a little powdered aluminum (aluminium?) mixed in before application.

That's a new one. I'll have to check it out.
Here is a guy's web page which describes in great deal the bedding process (he happends to use Dev Con) along with some interesting tips.
http://yarchive.net/gun/rifle/bedding.html
Here's another from a well-known site:
http://www.varminthunters.com/tech/bedding.html
Here's specific info on pillar bedding (this one is a Rem in a McMillan) for those who are rather handy with tools.:
http://www.varminthunters.com/tech/pillarbedding.html
More general and detailed tips:
http://riflestocks.tripod.com/bedding.html (uses Brownell's products).
One thing I just picked up:
" The back of recoil lug (the flat surface of lug closest to the receiver) should fit flush against the glass bedding. The sides, bottom and front should have clearance between it and bedding. " He recommends taping the sides, front and bottom with .01" of masking tape to allow clearance.
Varminthunters, on the other hand, says that the rear of the recoil lug *should * be taped:
'9. Apply 3 to 4 layers of masking tape to the front, sides and bottom of recoil lug, leaving the back of the lug free of tape.
10. Then apply 3 to 4 layers of tape to the rear surface of the tang."
Which is it?
Varminthunters.com mentions "Materials needed for action bedding:"
1. Bedding compound (Marine Tex , Brownells, Acraglas or Steel Bed , Devcon Plastic Steel, or similar epoxy)
That's about all I've ever heard of. Any other bedding compounds worth considering?

Which devcon, guys? Theres about a dozen of them.
I have tried JBWeld on a local smiths suggestion, seems OK to me.
I don't know what springfield used on my M1A, but it is really tough, hard on the dremel grinder!

*Which* DevCon?!!?!
Aw, geez.
And here I am trying to simplify my life.
While we're at it, what are the various "release agents" one could use? One guy uses "Simonize Car Wax." Is that the spray on type?

I found this the other day while researching my A-Bolt II project:
http://home.earthlink.net/~hwsportsman/Greywolf1.html
"The bedding is also part of the BOSS system.
The barrel is free floated from the receiver forward, but the action itself is bedded upon two blocks of a hard rubber compound of a specific durometer (hardness/softness).
This bedding system, Browning found, was the secret to getting the BOSS system to give repeatable results."
I wonder if experimenting with a rubber block or strip would yield similar results.

Here's another vote for JB Weld. You can get it in most any auto supply place, and it's economical. It's fine alone for forend pressure pads. Action bedding that needs extra beefing-up can be done with ordinary fiberglass insulation, cut fine with regular scissors to make 'flock', and mixed into the JB.
