Years ago I heard of a range rod called the Kabooty. I'd heard that it was a novel idea for getting consistent tamping compression but I never saw one and don't know how it worked. I write about in the past tense because I don't think it caught on and isn't made anymore. Does anyone have one or know how it worked?

I first read about this thing in 1999 in a Muzzleblasts Mag. If you google WWW.Kadooty.com you can read some reveiws and find a picture. Click on the Gunweek.com and scroll down there is a picture on the right.
I have not seen one, I did call and price one years ago, but did not buy one.

It isn't really a link. What he wanted you to do is input 'www.kadooty.com' in Google as a search term. One of the responses you get will be Gunweek.com. Click on that link on the Google page and it will take you to a Gunweek.com article. One of the items in the article is the KaDooty item you're looking for.

Kadooty not Kabooty, that's why I couldn't find it. I must have had booty on the brain.

Booty is not often associated with the brain. Mine usually ceases to work completely in that situation.
