Hi
I am looking to improve my Mossberg 590A1. The factory stock is too long for me, and I would to shorten it by about an inch? What is the best way to accomplish this? Are there shorter stocks available for the shotgun.
My second question is regarding lights. Are there decent light mounting set ups for the 590? What are some recommendations.
Thank You.

You should be able to get a synthetic youth stock from mossberg, or a "tactical" length stock from speedfeed. I don't think there is any way to shorten the factory stock.

Is probably the best way to put a light on a shotgun, you will have to remove your bayonet lug though.
I had both of my personal 500's stocks shorterned to 13" LOP. The shops had to fit a pad afterwards, but it was a worthwhile move.
For light mounting you could also look into the Railed Forearms such has Ergo Grip makes, then add a light. I use the Ergo and a Insight M-3X.
