Hi all,

Where is the best source for getting rifle parts? I'd like to build a rather custom .243 Win using a Krieger barrel, H&S target/varmint stock, and Rifle Basix trigger. That essentially leaves me needing an action. I'd rather not buy a whole rifle from a swap meet just for this part if I can avoid it. Where can I get something like this? Obviously Brownells, but where else?

Thanks,
-Steve

As you said, Brownell's, Midway, and most of the big mail order outfits.

Since you don't have donor action and you don't want to screw with parting out a gun show gun, you might consider a custom action. A prime example would be the Stiller Predator. It's a custom action with slightly more loose tolerances than a benchrest type action, so that it can be used in the field without fear of malfunction. They got for around $750, and have a 700 footprint, i.e. same triggers, stocks, etc. Plus, you've got an action that is basically accurized when you get it. You don't have to have a standard action worked over by a gunsmith.
