Hey all,

My friend just bought a new 4" Taurus Judge today at the local gun show. We gave it a quick cleaning at my place and took it to the range for its inaugural trip.

There was no way to extract the Fiocchi .410 shells we were shooting. The extraction plunger wouldn't budge and it took a LOT of prying with a small pocket knife blade to get the empties out. Is this common? Anyone else run into this?

We also had a few light primer strikes on the .45LC, but I blame the ammo more than the gun on that one so far.

Definitely curious about the .410 extraction though. Any thoughts?

.410 extraction works like any other rimmed cartridge in the Judge.
Some shells are a little stickier in the chambers after being fired, don't pry anything, use the ejector rod & tap it hard if you have to.
Next time, try other .410 brands or loads.
I had a couple loads that needed to be tapped out, others fell out.

Yeah, Fiocchi was the only ammo we had on hand today, so I can't speak for others.

I tapped as hard as I could, until my hand hurt. :) Even turned it to bang the ejector rod on the bench. No go. I wish I had my cleaning kit in the range bag, as I wanted to try pushing them out. I just wanted to give more detail about just how tight these were.

Anything that tight should be pushed out one by one with a cleaning rod, BIC pen, stick, etc.

Banging a revolver ejector rod on a bench is a sure way to do permanent damage to something.

My sample had nothing stick quite that tight, but I think there were two different loads that had to be forcefully ejected.
Try others & don't go back to the Fiocchi.
