I was at the gun store yesterday and found a Mauser in great shape. It was only $250 (I don't know if that is a good price but it is not a whole lot of money) and I was thinking about getting it but they didn't have any ammo since it was chambered in 7.65 Argentine. I looked all over town and nobody has it. I just checked online and it was $31 for 20rds. Anyone know where I can order some cheaper? (this price is off cheaper then dirt)

How about this?

7.65 Arg is a great round, and 1891 and 1909 Argentine rifles are just beauties. Probably most folks who shoot this caliber much, reload for it.

Thanks, I think I will order some of that ammo and buy the rifle.

It's not 7.65 Argentine! It's really 7.65x54 Mauser, or 7.65 Belgian.

The Belgians via FN created the round for their M1889 Mauser rifle, the Turks used it in their M1890 Mausers, the Argentines used it in their 1891s, and it saw use up until the Argentine Contract FN-49s in the 1960s.

A superb round that does everything .308 Winchester does.

But thirty-one bucks? Damn. My local shop carries Privi for $12, and there's four or five other flavors all under $20.
