Brother shot at

Drove up to Portland ti visit mom and grandma the other day and they related this story...

My brother, age 35 and works for the city as some sort of tech/engineer, had gone 'cross town to visit a friend and was returning to my folks house at aprox 10:30 pm. either as he approached a stop sign on Killingsworth or as he sat at a stop sign, saw a woman run in to the street from the left, he rolled his window down half way to ask what the problem was, caught something in the corner of his eye and sew a male on the rt side disappear behind phone booth. then the male came from behind the phone booth towards the right side of my brothers minivan. brother looked over at the male as the male yelled"who you talking to?" at my brother or the woman, dunno
.
The male then reached, drew and fired at my brother.

The rest of the story is a little more fuzzy as I got it from mom and grandma -

All I know is brother drove away, called the police then returned after police arrived to give report.

The bullet shattered the window of the sliding door and seems to have not broken any other windows or lodged itself in the minivan. went out half rolled down drivers window? From right rear? Would put the trajectory within inches of my brother.

Haven't been able to get hold of brother to find out what really happened and review some SA. He has been pretty liberal over the last 10 or 15 years and probably has fired a gun in more than 15 years(I always invite him down to shoot but his wife forbade it - they are in the middle of divorce now). Talked to hime a few months ago and he seemed interested in hnadguns and CHL (Dad and I both got one). Time may be ripe to revisit the 2nd Amendment with him.

Rule one when I took life-saving was "Don't become a victim!". I think this applies to all kinds of rescues that a gentleman may be called upon for.

If this guy became a liberal because his wife was a liberal, then you need to hook him up with a conservative woman. Preferrably a prettier twentysomething woman just to make the old harpie really jealous.

Anyway, get him to the range pronto.

There is nothing as motivating as a high pucker factor incident to renew or kindle a interest in self defense.

A conservative is a liberal who has just been mugged. Sounds ripe for some common sense conversion to me. Hope he is well and thinking clearly.

what a wakeup ! ! ! something like this causes my imagination to go rampant.

glad he is ok physically. mentally, may he develop an attitude. seems he was normal before "her".

had one "her". said, either the guns go or she was. i still have the guns.

current woman, 23+ years, has her own collection and reloads for same. only prob, she thinks mine are her's too.

they are out there guys.

I'm glad the Second Amendment has waited for him.

Glad he wasn't hurt and I hope they catch the shooter. His abuse of the firearm makes it bad for the lawful adherents of the Second Admendment.

Thankfully your brother wasn't hurt.
Good plan to renew the self defense spark.
