IMI Jericho/IMI Baby Eagle in 40S&W. I want to sell it so I took it shooting to make sure it still work.

Get weird FTFs where the bullet lodges against the roof of the chamber and refuses to feed any further. I can reproduce them via hand-operating the gun by short stroking the slide.

Any idea what is causing this when the gun is firing? I have had 2 people test the gun and they also got the FTFs.

What kind of bullet? My one Glock always chokes on Hydrashoks...seem to get stuck on some burr on the feed ramp that I can't feel.

These are UMC hollowpoints. They were reliable in the past.

Have you made any changes to your pistol? Shock buffer, spring change, magazine change, disassembled the mag?

Most feeding problems can be traced back to the magazine. It does sound like your magazine is releasing the round early in the feed operation. Could be worn a bit, could be the mag lips have spread with use or where damaged when dropped. Could be the magazine is getting dirty and the follower isn't pushing up as smartly as before or the mag spring is getting weak after years of use. If you have more than one magazine check to make sure if its happening with all of them.

I was thinking it could be a mag lips issue. The gun came with 2x Clinton 10 rounders originally. I recently bought a factory 12 rounder and I am going to take the gun to the range and test tire the new magazine to see if it is sturdier. The mag lips don't look any different, but this could be a very subtle difference that I can't see easily with the naked eye.

The gun is otherwise stock.
