Owned both, sold both (decided I wanted a .40, so switched to the G27, and later also got a G33 in 357 SIG). The MK9 is actually just as heavy as the G26, being of all-metal construction: if you want something lighter, check out the PM9. I found that I could shoot the Glock better than the Kahr.

I have a Glock 23 and a Kahr MK9. The baby Glocks are just to "Chunky" for me to get used to. The Kahr is MUCH smaller, slimmer and to me, easier to carry. I just bought a Kahr PM9, but, the juries still out on it. Seems to work OK, but, it looks like the barrel hood is getting beat up by the slide when it goes into battery. Its going back to Kahr. But, I think thats a fluke, others have reported great success with the PM9.

I never owned a G26. Just too chunky for my liking. I have a G17 and a G19, but when I wanted to step down to a really small thin 9mm, I went with the MK9. It is really tiny, albeit a bit heavy, but it can easily be managed in the pocket. The MK9 is very robust. Heard a lot of problems with the PM9 regarding fragility.
Biggest downside to going with the MK9 is that it is 6+1. Early G26s can be had with 12+1. Current ones 10+1. I would say if you are replacing a snubbie .38, then go with the G26 because they are just about the same size. If you want something more concealable, the MK9 is the way to go.
Mox nix, as when the Kel-Tec P32 came on the market, my ultra hide-out is that feather weight .32. I know it is only a .32, but gee whiz, there is no limit to where you can conceal that little baby.

get a real gun, I don't care if it's a 30, 36, or a real gun...like a 1911!!!!
Just make sure it's in a MAN'S caliber like .45 ACP, or better...OK?

Yeah, I have both!! A G26 and an MK9 Elite.
First, the triggers are way different. The Kahr has a long, but very smooth trigger, at least in the Elite version, which means that it has had a factory trigger job. The MK trigger resets all the way back at the beginning of the stroke.
The MK is smaller and thinner, but heavier. The standard single stack mags come in 6,7,and 8 round configurations. You get a 6&7 rounder with the pistol.
It can be a real pain in the arse to put back together!! You have to get everything lined up and insert the slide stop pin. It has to go through the barrel lug and both sides of the frame. It is possible to insert the pin and miss the lug. Then, you are SOL!!!!
Pluses are that, as mentioned, it is thinner than the G26 and is designed for 115gr +P+ ammunition loaded to 1300 fps, which means the springs are strong!! It is also a very accurate little gun!!! It will do it's job with deadly perfection, provided you do yours!!
The MK is going to go to my wife as soon as she gets her CCW!!! :) I have absolutely no qualms about sending her out into the big bad world thusly armed!!

I've owned both and I'm currently on my second G26.
Some of what I've found.
Glock
Better accuracy
Increased capacity
Able to take high capacity mags in addition to standard mags
Polymer isn't affected as much by heat and cold. Something I think about when strapping on a carry gun left in a hot/cold car.
Glock triggers...well, they just suck.
Relatively thick, too much for front pocket carry, although it fits nicely in a back pocket with untucked shirt.
Mild recoil
MK9
Sweet trigger pull
Solid steel construction
Heavy for its size. Tried pocket carry and although it fit well, it was just too heavy. As with the glock it fits great in a back pocket.
Handles +P but recoil is getting up there in a little gun. Mine also had increased primer swipe and signs of unlocking a bit early.
The slide can be a bit tough to operate initially. This was a bit of a problem for my wife.
Both are nice and both will do the job. The only real downfall that I've seen with the Kahr is the weight. I can live with the recoil and decreased capacity. From what I've heard Kahr's answer to that in the PM9 has been less than satisfactory.
Now if Glock would just come out with a baby G36 in 9mm I'd be happy!

These points seem to be the ones that I have also assumed, although I have not fired the KAHR. I purchased Saturday an MK9 Elite which I will have by Thursday. I have fired the G26 at the range, was not overly impressed by anything other than the fact that it functioned flawlessly. I purchased the MK9 because it is thinner and the handle fits my hand like its custom.
