My son and I shot the 50 round series for the various grit bullets last summer. He shot his thru a NIB Rock River AR-15 (.223Rem) while I shot mine thru a Bushmaster Varminter AR-15 (also a .223Rem) which had around 2000 rounds thru it. I loaded them myself to save some money.
We followed the instructions of cleaning after every 10-shot series so it took a while to do the complete series.
Results : In the case of my son's brand new Rock River, there is no "before" accuracy to compare to. After the 50 grit bullets were shot and a thorough cleaning, we tested it for accuracy and found the gun to be phenominal. He was shooting 3/4 - 1 MOA (100yds & 200yds, paper targets) so he started shooting at the 4" steel plate at 400yds. It took two shots on the 16" plate to get his elevation & windage and then he shot about 20 rounds at the tiny 4" plate. He hit it 4 out of 5 shots which includes the shots that he took while it was swinging!
My Bushmaster is still accurate (MOA) but I haven't put it through a complete accuracy test since running the Tubbs' bullets thru it. The little testing that I did do showed at least as good but not necessarily better accuracy.
Here is an excellent article by Chuck Hawks on this very subject. It's a great read and Chuck used very scientific methods to test every step.

i did a very extensive test w/ this stuff in 2 rifles, following directions to the letter. in the case of a mil-surp it made accuracy significantly worse, and velocity was virtually unchanged. in the case of a factory remington, it increased velocity marginally (slightly more than the sd of my loads), and decreased accuracy slightly.
i know some people love the stuff, but i won't ever run it thru another gun of mine again, for whatever that is worth.

Hey There;
I have not used it and maybe should not answer. But, All guns are different . Even saying that. I would fail to see how wearing a new or even fired barrel would increase accuracy to any degree. Plenty of wear will take place with normal fireing. I have lapped some barrels with tooth paste but found no difference in accuarcy. In my opinion this is just a marketing tool from someone that can shoot. And if you do what he did you "should be able to shoot like him" NOT. Beware be wise. One mile shots without a rest ?
that is one of the claims also. Some one claimed a 1700 yard shot on a woodchuck too. (1)................. Not something that is going to happen today or next week. Happened once. I have killed P-dogs at 726 yards with my .223 but more then likely can not do it again for some time.
I would be very careful running abrasive bullets down a pricey barrel.
But thats just me.

I used it on an old Winchester Model 100 that I gotten ahold of. It had definitely seen better days and after running the Tubb System thru it - it was noticeably more accurate and cleaned up much easier than before.
Not sure I would use it on a brand new barrel, but for trying to improve/save and used model - I would definitely use it again.

I haven't researched what Tubb claims his system will do, but for my experience, I would only consider it IF I had a barrel that fouled excessively. By fouling, I mean bad copper deposits after minimal shooting. Any claims of increased accuracy are pie in the sky.
Any use of a final finish or fire lapping WILL move the throat of the rifle forward. So it will mean you will have to set out farther to reach the beginning of the rifling.
Wheeller engineering makes a fire lapping kit that lets you apply the abrasives to your own bullets. One kit will impregnate thousands of bullets.

I bought the wheeler kit when my nephew bought a 7 mag from a pawn shop. Some fool had spun a brush wrapped with coarse steel wool in the barrel!:fire: It shot patterns like a good buckshot load!:mad: I used the wheeler kit to impregnate some bulk rem bullets with the progressively finer abrasives. After firing the 20-20-20 round course, the rifling was noticeably smoother, and it settled down to shoot handloads at 2" @ 100 yds. Acceptable hunting accuracy.
