Not sure how new they are, but I just heard about Bushmaster's Carbon 15 AR carbines. I checked the website, and they are definitely featured products. They weigh about 4 pounds, or even less, and that fact alone inspired my question. Prices are comparable to regular Bushys, or maybe $100 more. So, I'm wondering what's wrong with these things, other than being relatively new and untested?

try a search for Professional Ordnance. BM bought PO, hopefully they can turn the PO's POS into something that works. So far BM is honoring warranty work for PO's old POS Carbon 15s (buddy has one in need of work)

Bushmaster bought out P.O. and is working on some re-engineering of their designs in order to get more reliable functioning out of the rifles. IIRC, it seems P.O. was getting their act together before their demise and the new bolt they came out with seemed to solve alot of problems. Hopefully Bushmaster can work out the bugs - if they do, it'll be a great lightweight rifle.

They should design it to current A2 standards just made out of the lighter weight material for the upper and lower.Maybe one day that will be the next step for the M16same design just lighter and stronger materials.

Well, at least my first AR wasn't a Bushmaster... so I still have an excuse to pick one up later. :D

PO advertised an AR style rifle chambered for 7.62 x 39 mm, and which took AK mags. I wonder if BM will bring that one out.
