I don't see the nocturnal subspecies listed, which we have in our area I beleive:D Seriously, the northern woodland is in Wisconsin and the one-time state record bow kill was taken a few miles from us.

Texas, cause that's mostly what we've got.

I for one think most of these represent races of whitetail deer rather than subspecies (the exception being some of the island and mountain populations). Still interesting.

I prefer to hunt only the species that go good with Soy sauce and fried potatoes.

In my state, I guarantee whitetails extend much further west. In fact, my state should be completely blacked out.

The elusive, massive-antlered whitetail buck that possesses night vision, super powers of sight & smell, can leap tall ridges in a single bound, is capable of rational thought, and knows exactly when hunting season opens & closes . . .

But you have some BIG bucks up there . . . grew up in Anaconda, partied around the Lake during the young & impressionable years of my indiscriminate youth . . . Flathead cherries still as good as they used to be?

Florida Key Deer.
They're so small you don't have to cut them up. Just skin and stir fry whole like shrimp.

Texas. Except when I get to hunt on one of those places that brought in a bunch of big Missouri deer.
