The 8-17-03 Academy flier lists and shows five handguns for sale. I have not seen a store advertise handguns before in a flier. Perhaps this will be the start of a trend. Let's hope so.

The guns were: Beretta U22 NEOS for $239, S&W Sigma 9mm for $349, Ruger KP97D for $359, Taurus PT-111 9mm for $359, and CZ 75 B 9mm for $389.

They have a decent selection too. The prices were semi-competitive and the sales doofus said they were going to be adding new models soon. They just added the Springfield XD last month.

I recently noticed that my local Academy has also expanded their selection of handguns. It's always good to have choices!

My local Academy has had a running special of 20% off all handguns. They just started carrying Glocks and Berettas. They also have Tauri, but the quality guns are starting to catch up.

My local Acadamy only carries rifles and shotguns. I think there is a law in my parish against big box stores from selling handguns.

I remarked on that (adverts for handguns in Sunday paper "pullouts") a coupla weeks ago. Gotta love it. They also routinely sell Blazer 9mm 115FMJ's for $3.99 a box of 50. Unfortunately, most of the counter help is dumber'n a bag of hammers. For the prices, I'll put up with it.

One store has handguns and shows them in fliers too. The guy I know there says they will even stock Kimbers soon.
