Just wondering if anyone has seen pics of proud politcians taking a photo-op at a 'gun-melt' where they melt down guns from a buy-back program.

It just seems so comical to me-they get all these POS jammomatics and revolvers without cylinders and talk about geting guns 'off the streets.'

I'd bet there aren't too many Glocks/Sig/S&W/HK's in those melts!

Understandable when a mayor or councilman looks like a goof at these, but even worse when a sheriff or chief attends the melting ceremony. They know DARN well that 99% of the guns weren't operable anyways so they weren't a threat on the street.

I'm from a steel-mill intensive area, so I see these stories more frquently than I'd care to in the local papers.

Know what I'm talking about?
