Anybody own a Mossberg 9200A1 "jungle gun" semi-auto shotgun?. Looks pretty cool with the mil spec finish. Only holds 4 shells however. Are they reliable? Can you get an extended magzine tube for it?

The few 9200-A1s that I have seen were as reliable as any semi-auto and better then some. I have seen only one with a feeding problem and Mossberg took care of it.

A magazine tube extension for Remington will fit the 9200-A1, but be sure to try it before you buy it. The tolerances in the cheaper extensions are not very tight.

They're excellent guns. I used Massad Ayoob's issue 9200 on an LFI-3 class a while back, and was very impressed, so much so that I bought one for myself (24", camo finish). I'm selling it at the moment, but not because I don't like it - I've just gone "back to the Dark Side" and am concentrating on Remington 870 Wingmasters! :D

Hey Kalibear, I frequently shoot my jungle Gun at Jacksons. I love it. It has functioned flawlessly for the 400 or so rounds I've put through it. Compared to my 500 it's a pussy to shoot and keep on target for follow up shots. You do get a bit of a giggle fit going after sending 7 shells of 00 downrange rapid fire. Everyone goes kinda quiet in the other stalls...... Mine came with a 5 shot tube standard and I added a +2 to it. You can email me, and next time I'm going to Jacksons, you are more than welcome to meet up and have some fun with it. Got a valtro too if you want to give that a whirl......:D
