But does it fit comfortably sideways Rappa Style?
And can you bend the carbon-fiber bill to customize it Redneck Style?

Skunky,
Only you would find a ball cap with carbon fiber in it. :D

I notice the button on top of the cap. Does it come off for installation of the propellor?

I like boonies because they dont have a visor that gets nudged by your scope. If you have to turn your 'cap' around, what is the point of wearing one.

Boonie hat offers more sun protection and seems to work better with scoped rifles.

To get serious...
I'll take a boonie over a ball cap if I am spending any significant time outdoors.
You really want some sun protection for the tops of your ears.
After seeing my father get a couple "pre-cancerous" areas cut off the top of his ears from sun exposure over the years, I am sold.
Just something to think about. Ball caps just don't protect those ears.

Carbon fiber is fairly expensive. I wonder what it costs.

Boonie hats for rain, for sun, for hiding, for everything else.
But wearing a hat will make you go bald.

Those of us who are already bald, or with shaved heads, have a wide collection of hats. I prefer brimmed hats to ball caps. Better shade and less chance of sunburn or skin cancers.

But wearing a hat will make you go bald.
No it won't. Testosterone will.
If you're male, accept the fact that having two testicles may cause you to go bald.
I say "may" because my father and grandfather have worn caps daily for 50+ years each, and both have a full head of hair. I'm here as evidence that both of them have testicles, also.

I am just at a loss as to why folks find carbon fiber to be attractive. It looks like cheap lawn chair nylon weave that is coated in plastic.
People by decals of carbon fiber images in which to cover their dashboards, car rims, etc. I am surprised nobody has done it to their gun yet.

Actually, Remington makes a shotgun with carbon fiber in it now.
AR lowers have also been made of carbon fiber.

85 Euros so that your baseball cap can look like a cheap lawn chair? No thank you!

You can also find kevlar stocks, but I am not sure how they are better than the standard nylon stocks relative to the expense.

I quit wearing ball caps. I don't play professionally. Most ball caps have something embroidered on front that makes a statement - which they can pay me to wear, not vice versa. They fit too closely to cool or warm the head, lacking any space.
Boonie hats are superior in most regards -which is why they are still issue, and ball caps died with the change to BDU's in 1984.
For dress, I wear Ivy caps, which do almost as well, without making me look like a SWAT team member busting a meth house. And I get a lot more conversation from total strangers, especially women. Ivy caps are apparently more comfortable to them. Ball caps are perceived, IMHO, as being worn by another sexual threat. So, the ivy cap is more tactical in that regard.

I don't know that I would classify the regulation Army and Marine covers as ball caps, but they certainly aren't boonie hats. Boonie hats are issued for field use, and thats about it.
As someone who habitually wears a ball cap every single day, I obviously am biased, but yet I have two boonie hats because there are times they are better. My problem with boonie hats is that they are a little bit goofy looking if you wear a hat all day, every day as I do.

"People by decals of carbon fiber images in which to cover their dashboards, car rims, etc. I am surprised nobody has done it to their gun yet." Oh but they have. I've seen some Glocks with it, one of those P22s, and I think Marlin even ships one from the factory now.

If only we had some kind of global system of computers where one could input a query for the most basic of things and have the answer revealed in mere seconds.

Yeah, they don't really fall into urban fashion. But anywhere I would spend a significant time in the sun I would choose a boonie hat over a baseball cap without doubt. Baseball caps look goon 'n all, but are pretty useless when you seek good protection from the elements.

I am right there with you. Fishing, a long day shooting in the summer, or a day at the lake all require a boonie. Past that, the ol' ball cap goes on.

I tell you right now those things will NOT fit my cranium. None of the modern caps will. People don't seem to understand how big a cranium can get. Mine is 26" in diameter owing to an occipital bun.
My dad's is even larger.

So thats what an ivy cap is!
Never could see the function in those. Of course I'm in Texas and if there is no brim then it's not a cap much less a hat. I love boonie hats as they keep sun AND rain out of your eyes.
The sun here will eat you alive so that is why you never see those here.

Cosmo, you do have a big grape. If your looking for a ballcap, you need look no further than this company:
http://www.bigheadcaps.com/
They have hats that fit up to 29 inch size melons, so you should be good to go. It's also worth noting that they sell a variety of hats other than ballcaps, to include bike helmets!

Wow, thanks! I'm still using a three year old ski helmet for the bike because nothing else fits.

Quit wearing ball caps when I grew up. Near as I can remember, that was about age 6. With my fat head, they made me look like Beaver Clever on prednisone.
Been wearing boonies since my 'vacation' in SE asia. For more formal occassions, I like the toppers from Tonto Rim and Miller Hats.
And, as mentioned, the skin cancer on ears, etc, make any hat a necessity.

I have to look at that Big Head caps site. I wear a 7 5/8 or 7 3/4 size hat. I, too, find it difficult to find a comfortable bike helmet.

I work inside all day long, so a fitted, 100% cotton, ball cap with no logos serves as my head gear. Tan or black.
When I work outside, the tan 100% cotton boonie cap comes out and rules the day.

If you don't like the styling of a boonie hat, these function in a similar fashion and are designed for outdoor protection usage:
http://www.tilley.com/hat_category.asp?catId=1
I have Tilley LTM6 AIRFLOŽ hat.
Canadian Forces issued one of the Tilley brimmed hats for sailors deployed in the Persian Gulf a few years ago. (Sun protection).

In days of old we called them "covers". Similar to "trousers" not pants.:uhoh:

That hat belongs on the dashboard of the mall ninja's highly customized purple Hummer H2 with extra large spinner rims, chromed front to back without a scratch on it.
It would also look great next to a Glock with a red dot scope AND a laser grip system.
