I have in my possession an old Parker double 12ga. hammer gun . I bought it 10-12 years ago at a pawn shop. The barrels are" Fine Demascus Steel "and are 18 1/8" long. The problem is that a chip has come off of one barrel at the muzzle. :what::evil:
I would like to find a company that will reline these fine looking barrels with a rifled 45? liner and reset/rebuild the extractors.
Also I am at a loss as to the caliber to use. 45-70, 45-60, 50-70? I am open to suggestions. I reload and would prefer to load with BP and cast bullets.:D

Any help would be appreciated.

At one time Briley would do stuff like that. Cost in the thousands. Plural.

There is discussion of converting double shotguns to express rifles on AccurateReloading.com and NitroExpress.com

There was a poster on this forum that had a double shotgun lined to a rifle caliber. I cannot find the post. I believe the stated cost was $800-900.

PS Relining is the onlu way I know of to save this fine shotgun. Any other suggestions?

It can be done, I have an old Belgian 12 gauge that V.M. Starr lined and regulated for the 45-70-330.

VM cut the barrels to 25" but it is still a heavy piece.

VM has passed on and I don't know who does this sort of work anymore.
