AIM: "Last of the SAR-2 rifles"

I saw this on AIM's website today:
"We have just purchased the last of the Romanian SAR-2 5.45x39 Rifles to ever be imported."
What's the deal on these rifles? Is there finally a prohibition on importing these? It seems that every year or so, someone has a sale on the last of the SAR rifles...

That someone is Century, the importer. They've cried wolf many times about this ban or that ban, last of the SARs, etc...
Seems this time Century was unable to come to an agreement with their supplier in Romania. It's not a ban, just business dealings.
We'll see how long it lasts.

waiting to get picked up from work today, I was looking through a SGN... saw lots of folks selling butchered AK-74's brought in from Bulgaria (I think?) -- complete less receiver -- for about 150. Add in 100 for a receiver.. I doubt AK74 rifles are going anywhere, whatever happens with the SAR.
Where there's a market, there's a seller. :)

(edited to add... so, the distributor had to find 'em, have em torched, than repacked to send here.. and they were still $150 or so plus shipping. DANG! Ya ever stop to think that if it weren't for the various laws out there, we'd maybe have surplus FA AKs on the shelf for under $100 out the door?? :( )

Kalyee:
You also need about $60 in US parts to make the rifle legal.
