I am leaning toward H335 but let me have your opinions.

Gun: Remington 700 ADL .223 with 1:12 twist 22" barrel
Brass: R-P and FC (no military yet)
Bullet: Hornady 52gr BTHP Match
Primer: CCI Small Rifle
Powder: ?????? Need your thoughts als give starting charge.

Also I have a new PACT Chrony, what will the chrony tell me about my loads. I know I will be getting velocity readings but what do I do with the readings?

I am going to be working with my .243 and .223 at the same time to help break up my waiting time at the range for barrel cool down. The 22lr will be there to help occupy my time as well.

You'll need to stick with the lighter bullets because of your twist rate and I think H335 is one of the best with lighter than 60gr. bullets.

I bought 8# several years ago and it's still serving me well.

If you get H335, here (http://www.hodgdon.com/)is your source. Go to the Reloading Data Center. If you're loading Hornady bullets, pick up their book...it's a good source. Your starting charge should be about 24.0gr.

With your chrony, lower S.D. means the speed of the loads are more consistent. It doesn't necessarily mean more accurate. A low extreme spread points to the fact that your procedure for loading is consistent. With that barrel length and twist, your velocities will be a little lower than book readings but not that far off.

Concur, H-335 would be a good choice with the other components you listed.

H322 is also good for the lighter than 60g projectile loadings. Not necessarily a max-velocity powder for that application, but very nice.

Both of those meter well in a volumetric powder measure.

There are other good powders, but H335 will be hard to beat.

Try H322. It is advertised by Hodgdon as the powder that has won more benchrest matches than any other. All I know is that once I got it tuned in with my .223's COAL, I was shooting sub-MOA consistently at 100yds. Started with H335, from a recommendation of a veteran reloader, but H322 has proven to be better in my gun.

I use Varget. Works equally well in my .223 and .308. Turns in nice small groups with lower charges.

I have tried a few different powders for 223. The two I like the best are H335 and W748. Both powders meter very good.
