very cool gun... looks like the 327 R8 just 3 times bigger and without 6 inches of barrel sticking out, but seriously, nice gun.

That's just...
Wow.
I'm kinda flinching just imagining what the recoil is like, but I wanna shoot it at the same time. Does that make me crazy?:p

I've got the same one, but without the er, umm brake?
Where in the world did you get that thing and how is it mounted?
Also if you haven't shot it much before, avoid the 200 gr screamers.
You will have the same issues as the 357 Max. I had my Frame replaced due to 2 things, 1 was flame cutting and 2, the area around the firing pin hole was actually warping.

SWEET
Youre probably going to want to put another ring up front and move the scope forward so its about flush with base of the turrets so the scope wont slide from recoil. But 1 question: Why even bring a bow when you have that beautiful 460 you put all that money into? Id bring her as the main event, nothing better than hunting with a hand cannon.

And if you don't bag any deer or elk, I believe that should be enough for small aircraft. :D

They let you carry hand cannons while bow hunting?
How strange!

From the looks of the rings, you will not need 3 of them. Are they Warne?

I saw one almost exactly like that at my favorite gun shop this last weekend. I wish I had $1800 I could justify spending on it- it is a seriously cool revolver. The cylinder on the thing is amazingly massive.
Definitely let us know how it shoots, you lucky fellow.

Yes Redhawk they are Warne.

Thanks, but I've already pushed my luck enough so far this year with what I've brought home. I figure I have at least 3 more months, more likely 6, before I risk acquiring anything else. The wife has quit grinning when I explain what followed me home...

If you miss Bambi with the bow you can just whack 'em over the head with that thing. :neener:
I'm not really one to talk. My 460 doesn't have the weight of that rig. It's just a wee bit uncomfortable (read: obnoxious) to shoot. I happen to be in the middle of a muzzle brake search myself. I've got to tame the beast in order to put more than 3 or 4 rounds through it without needing medical attention.

Yeah, the scope it currently on the 22-250 but I may move it to the 460 so a friend can use it to go bowling for bambi. I stuck with Leupy steel rings on their promise that the scope wouldn't run away.
The long barrel with no cylinder gap returns 2500+ fps out of the 200 grain hot rods. No top strap cutting here! :D

Idaho_Elk_Huntr, those Warne rings are the best in my book. That is what I use on all my big kickers.

What's the purpose of a bow season if you can carry a firearm?

I think the gun would be used for a bear while hunting other game with a bow.

Majic there is no season open in the lower 48 for grizzley's. I am not about to become bear poop. Main reason I got the gun after a run in wih a sal and 2 cubs. Where in Va are you located. Im from Farmville

Redhawk, do you cast your own bullets? What would you recommend for elk? I have about a ton of wheel weight lead.

Idaho_Elk_Huntr, I get my hard cast bullets from Ranger Rick and Montana Bullet Works. I do not cast my own.
I think a 300 gr. bullet would work great on an Elk.
I have a very accurate load for a 300 gr. Hard cast WFNGC bullet for my 460 Mag. I have it sighted in 1 inch high at 100 yards, at 200 yards I am 3 inches low. So I can hold dead on from 0 to 200 yards.
I just got a bunch of 370 gr. hard cast bullets from Ranger Rick to try out as well as some 535 gr. hard cast to try out in the 460 Mag.
But like I said, the 300 gr. would do a great job. If you want my load, PM me.
Alex
