from my long time gun dealer here in Denver, a Sig P-239 357 Sig.

I was ruminating between the 357 Sig and the 9mm but I've shot the 9mm for so many years, I wanted something a little different for my CCW here in Colorado.

Reading MANY of the posts here on THR re: 357 Sig and the P-239 was a fairly straight forward process to making my ultimate decision of the 357 Sig.

* I should have posted this in the autoloaders section...my mistake.

Sweet. If it arrives and you decide you don't like it, feel free to send it to me for storage purposes. Plus I presume you will give a full detailed report when it arrives?

I can't say enough good things about this combo. You won't regret it and you can share in your gloating over here too: SIGForum (http://sigforum.com/6/ubb.x?a=frm&s=674608412&f=430601935)

We'll understand ;)

Good for you!:) It is one great all around carry gun, plus it is accurate, rugged and down right reliable. I really don't think you will ever regret your choice for a primary CCW, sure there are other really great guns for CCW but I am really happy with mine. Good shooting....

MY PCR CAN BEAT UP YOUR 239  :scrutiny:.....Kidding. :D

Actually they are great...but my hands are used to the 226-229 and just could not get to feeling right with the little SIG...hope you like it.

Shoot well

I also carry an all steel gov't five inch 1911 in a Milt Sparks HR-LTD but with the weight, I feel better with jeans rather than summer khakis. The 1911 just disappears and hides very well. I"m kind of lean so I need a holster and pistol that fits just right. I also wear a top notch gun belt and this helps too.

If the P-239 carries all day as well as I think it will, my 1911 might have to be 'totally' supplanted.

But I do like the 1911 so we'll just have to wait and see.

Know what? This 357 Sig cartridge with the P-239 Sig is getting me a little excited. It's been a few years since I've fired a magnum round. Kind of reminds me of the S & W magnum wheel gun days. :)

Congrats. You're gonna love it. You may likely have to brush up against something to remember you're carrying it compared to that 1911.

Welcome to the He-Man's 357SIG fan club.

Hi, Climb14er. My carry guns are close to the same as yours...either a full-size 1911 (a Kimber Custom) or a SIG P239. My SIG's in .40...I've only owned it a few months and it's both my first SIG and my first .40...and I love it.

I was so enamored of it I did consider trading/selling/swapping my Kimber to get a duplicate SIG! I've finally talked myself out of that...but I find myself carrying the SIG more and more, especially in hot weather. My usualy carry rig for it is a Kramer Confidant holster shirt. As the weather gets cooler I'll be more prone to wear a fleece vest or something, and I'll probably rotate back to the 1911 more.

In any case...congrats on your new purchase. The .40 P239s can also be used with a .357 barrel and magazine for a little dual-caliber action...might have to try that one day!
