Seeing if any of you have a good load for .230 gr Hornady XTP out of a 1911. The powders I have on hand are Red Dot, Unique, and Titegroup. Are these good enough or do I need to pick something else up?

All 3 powders are suitable for what you want. Just consult normal reloading data sources, give them a try and adjust if need be till YOUR gun likes them.

do you guys load xtp's just like any other jacketed bullets?
I personally like unique behind my 230 grain .45's though 5.6 grains seems to be a little on the dirty end. Maybe 6.0 grains of unique would be the ticket.

I load the 185 XTP's using the Lee manual... with excellent results from TiteGroup and AA #5... err, pay attention, it's easy to double charge with these powders...
Hope this helps...
