Cartridge : .22 Magnum CCI 30gr Maxi-Mag HP

Firearm : Taurus .22 Magnum revolver with 2.0" barrel length

Block calibration : 8.1cm @ 594 ft/sec and 33.7 degrees Fahrenheit

Single shot fired from 10 feet distance into a bare gelatin block. Shot impacted at 1301 ft/sec and penetrated to 14.3". Bullet yawed at 4.1" depth and continued sideways travel until it began base-forward travel at 5.7" penetration. Bullet was recovered at 0.224" average diameter, 0.355" length and 29.9gr weight.

I see 'em. Upgrade to Ubuntu :).

Seriously, the lack of expansion is bad BUT the end-for-end flip isn't a bad wounding mechanism either and they're punching deep enough. I would still use these as the best round for a minirevolver or snub. 1300fps from a 2" barrel is GOOD - I'm not normally a big Taurus fan but that's one FAST barrel on that thing.

Result: this gun and bullet combo are a good choice as a "granny gun" for those that can't cope with much recoil.
