Unfortunately, I have not really been paying much attention as to what has been happening in the gun market place other than the obvious price increases, and fast rising prices of ammo. I haven't really looked for a new gun in some time, today I was just looking onto some "dream guns" and I remembered that Taurus made a 500 s&w mag. I can't find it any more. Taurus lists it as discontinued. What happened?

Nobody was buying them, the gun shops I went to could not move them and they had to sell them for below cost just to get rid of them. If you want a 500 Mag without the expense of the S&W, get the BFR in 500 Mag.

I have both a S&W and a BFR in 500 Mag, both are great shooters. Personally I would never of bought a Taurus 500 Mag

Taurus seems pretty quick to discontinue items that aren't selling well.
Which would seem to me to be a smart, given their large catalog.


Especially with an item like a .500mag Raging Bull. The .500 in general doesn't seem like it would have all that large a market compared to other rounds.
